Superman? Batman? Or A Truck?

Batman or Superman

Yes that has always been the question. Of course if you apply it to your spiritual walk the way it was discussed in the book I just finished reading it brings on a whole new set of questions.

The book was titled Dont Buy The Lie by Mark Matlock.

The book was awesome but this chapter reminded me of all my kids (Yes all 26 + of them). You see Batman as a superhero has no special powers. He will always rely on his intelligence, strength, speed, toys & money. He does it all in himself with outside assistance. Superman on the other hand has special powers, Yet he keeps them secret when not in use. He always tries to do good & help those who need assistance. He stand up to evil and sticks up for the weak.

So as a Christian, the most powerful supernatural being that ever existed created you. So as a believer you have the Holy Spirit living inside you, which is also a pretty powerful supernatural being. So we, believers, have access to supernatural beings and can use that access to help us work with others. Stand up to evil, support the weak and do good. Or you can do it all in yourself and not let God be glorified in any way. Do the work in yourself, make all the plans, ignore the supernatural being inside of you & think you’re still doing good for God. Basically playing Christian (Which many of the students in our youth group are doing).

Remember sitting in church or youth group doesn’t make you a Christian, just like standing in your garage doesn’t make you a truck!

So who are you?? Superman? Batman? Or A Truck?
